Licence - Street Trading Consent
A 'consent street' means a street in which street trading is prohibited without the consent of this District Council.
Applications should be made to the Head of Environmental Health and be accompanied by the fee of £100.00 (2008/09).
It is Council policy to discuss such applications with the Chief Inspector of Police.
Permission will not normally be granted where it is considered that street trading will give rise to nuisance or annoyance (whether to persons using the street or otherwise) or during hours of operation which are outside those permitted for other retail food outlets in that area.

Street trading means the exposing or offering of articles for sale on roads, pavements and other areas to which the public have unrestricted access without payment.
You do not need street trading consent in areas which are not covered by Consent Street Orders, but wherever you trade you will need the consent of the landowner and you may need planning consent. Food traders must be registered with their local Environmental Health Department.
