The Licensing Team is part of the Environmental Health Section at North Shropshire District Council and deals with:

The issue of licenses and permits for the following:
- Hackney Carriage (Vehicles/Drivers) / Private Hire - (Operators/Vehicles/Drivers)
- Premises Licences
- Club Premises Certificates
- Temporary Event Notices
- Personal Licences
- Gaming Machines in Pubs & Clubs
- Betting Shops
- Small Lotteries
- Sex Establishment Licence
- House to House Collections
- Street Collections
Provide advice to potential licence holders and members of the public.
Checking and processing of all applications and payments.
Negotiating with applicants and persons making representations.
Acknowledge receipt of Temporary Event Notices and signing counter notices when necessary.
Bring prosecutions for offences or breaches of licence in relation to the above licences and permits.
Ensure all complaints are investigated.
Preparation of reports to Licensing Committee and for Licensing Hearings. Advising applicants of any decisions.
Consulting with outside authorities ie Police, Fire Authorities, Gambling Commission, Shropshire County Council Child Employment Officer and other Council Sections.
Carrying out enforcement exercises both during normal office working hours and outside normal office hours with outside authorities.
Reviewing policies for Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005 and Taxi/Private Hire when necessary.
