Proposals to set up a Home Enterprise Network to help support home-based businesses in the district are being considered by North Shropshire District Council following the publication of a recent survey report. 

Results from the report, prepared by Shrewsbury-based consultants Redbrick Enterprises Ltd and commissioned by the Council in September 2006 to assess demand for live/work opportunities, concluded that more than 2500 home-based and self employed individuals now operate in North Shropshire. The potential to increase the number of home-based businesses and support existing home workers in North Shropshire was also highlighted as being significant to bring further economic, environmental and social benefits to the district.
