A Guide to Personal Searches
Bookings
The Local Land Charges Register is available to persons wishing to carry out a Personal Search from Monday to Thursday 9.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. and Friday 9.30 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. by telephoning Local Land Charges on 01939 238432. We ask for at least 24 hours notice of an appointment, and a plan must be provided prior to the appointment, this can be faxed to 01939 238419 or emailed to: locallandcharges@northshropshiredc.gov.uk
Payment
£11.00 Statutory fee for search of the Local Land Charges Register, additional parcels of land £1.00 each, fee is payable by either cheque or cash at the time of appointment, cheques payable to North Shropshire District Council.
The Local Land Charges Registers are held manually on a card system stored in Kalamazoo Registers. A basic knowledge of the Personal Search system and the Local Land Charges register is necessary in order to carry out an effective personal search. It is the responsibility of the person carrying out the search to interrogate and investigate the records provided to retrieve the required information. The Council does not provide written information and will not respond to request for verbal information. Personal Searches must be equipped to record the information they require.

Register of Contaminated Land
Register of Hazardous Substances Consents
The following are situated in the Building Control Department:
The main Building Control Register of Full Plans and Building Notices deposited and Competent Persons Notifications received is not a public register and therefore not open to inspection.
The register of Initial Notices received is required by statute to be maintained and available for inspection at reasonable notice.
