Employment Land Review - March 2007
The District Council has been working with consultants the BE Group to assess the supply of employment land in North Shropshire. The Employment Land Review considers the structure, characteristics, weaknesses and opportunities of the local economy and is informing preparation of the Local Development Framework (LDF) Core Strategy and Site Allocations Development Plan Documents (DPDs).
The study follows the methodology set out in the government's companion guide to Planning Policy Guidance 4 and has three main elements:
- an assessment of the District's economy that will inform the amount, location and type of employment land required to facilitate its' continued development;
- a review of the current employment land portfolio;
- recommendations on the employment land needed to maintain the District's economy.
