Refuse Collection and Recycling Services
Shropshire Waste Partnership are responsible for managing household waste and recycling services on behalf of North Shropshire District Council and other Shropshire authorities.
These services will be delivered on behalf of SWP by Veolia Environmental Services. Veolia will be responsible for producing and delivering your collection date calendars and other information leaflets.
Alternate weekly collection of Household Refuse and Green Waste
Your refuse and garden kitchen waste is collected on alternate weeks. One week SWP collect your rubbish from the grey bin and the next week your garden and all compostable waste from your green bin, plus your recycling boxes. For more information click here.
Kerbside Recycling Collection
Households are provided with kerbside recycling boxes in which you can put:
- Newspapers and magazines including letters, leaflets etc....
- Glass bottles and jars - rinsed out - but not broken glass
- Food and drink cans - rinsed and squashed
Your boxes are emptied on the same day as your green waste bin. Just put your boxes out with your green bin on the right day and your recyclables will be collected as well! Green Waste Collection
You are able to put kitchen food waste, garden waste and some types of cardboard into your green waste bin. For more information on what you can put in your green bin click here - Shropshire Waste Partnership.
SWP will empty your green bin on the alternate week to your grey refuse bin.
Recycling Bank Sites
The recycling centres around the District remain in operation and provide the opportunity to recycle textiles and shoes. You can take paper (including yellow pages and telephone directories), cans and glass to these sites if you wish or if it cannot fit into your boxes. The Household Waste Recycling Centre in Waymills Civic Park in Whitchurch also has facilities for the disposal of household waste as well as a wide range of facilities for recycling.
