Unhappy with the District Council?  Here's how to make a formal complaint

You can complain in person at Edinburgh House, email, by telephone, or by writing to the Customer Service Improvement Manager, North Shropshire District Council, Edinburgh House, New Street, Wem, Shropshire SY4 5DB.

What happens next?

We will endeavour to respond to your complaint within 10 working days.  If we cannot give a complete answer we will tell you what we are doing to investigate your complaint and how long we expect it to take, OR if your complaint comes under a special complaints procedure we will tell you.

Still not satisfied with the outcome?

If you are still not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint please write to the Chief Executive, North Shropshire District Council, Edinburgh House, New Street, Wem, Shropshire SY4 5DB.  You will receive a written response.

Unhappy with the way the Council has dealt with your complaint?

You can contact the Local Government Ombudsman.  At any stage you may wish to involve your Local Councillor.

Unhappy with a Councillor's behaviour?

All Councillors have to comply with a Code of Conduct.  The Code of Conduct for Members of North Shropshire District Council is contained within the Council's constitution.  If you consider that a District Councillor or a Town or Parish Councillor has breached the Code you can make a complaint to the Standards Committee for North Shropshire District Council.
