Market Town Regeneration in North Shropshire

North Shropshire Economic Forum

North Shropshire District Council has been working with partners including Advantage West Midlands to establish a district wide Economic Forum to help support economic growth and prosperity across the district as a whole. The Forum is a business network that is currently working up priorities and developing projects that will address economic issues across North Shropshire.  Click here for more information.

Market Town Programme

The District Council has supported economic regeneration programmes in each of the market towns and their surrounding rural parishes.

Each of the market towns has developed an Action Plan that has benefited from funding from Advantage West Midlands, the regional development agency. The Programme has helped to deliver many economic regeneration projects across the district which have created jobs and businesses, supported business growth and provided new and improved community services and facilities.

Ellesmere

The Ellesmere Market Town Programme started in 2005 and is due to be completed in March 2009.  There are a number of projects in the Programme, that have already brought many benefits to the town.
