The Shropshire Citizens Advice Bureau are part of a national network of independent Citizens Advice Bureau which give free, confidential and impartial help and advice to anyone regardless of race, gender, sexuality or disability.

 

 

 

 

 

Our trained volunteer advisers will:

  • listen to you and help you explain your problem
  • use their extensive national information system and consultancy service to give customers up to date and accurate advice
  •  discuss your possible courses of action and their likely consequences

 

and once YOU have decided

  • offer practical help, eg, drafting letters, telephone calls, calculating benefits, completing forms etc
  • where appropriate refer customers to other agencies or services
  • When regulations or laws appear to treat clients unjustly CAB will try to get them changed so that others do not suffer.

Citizens Advice Bureaux offers FREE, CONFIDENTIAL, INDEPENDENT, AND IMPARTIAL advice and information on: -

  • Benefits/Tax Credits - including income support, benefit, job seekers allowances, disability benefits, tax credits
  • Employment - including unfair dismissal, redundancy, contracts, terms and conditions
  • Housing - including tenancies, arrears, homelessness
  •  Personal - including care of the elderly, care of the young, relationships
  • Debt - including maximising income, budgeting, dealing with creditors
  • Other - including taxes, legal matters, health, education, consumer problems, immigration and nationality, local information

 

Citizens Advice Bureau also offers Specialist help for Benefits and Debt problems to clients who are eligible for legal aid.
