North Shropshire District Council is committed to encouraging innovation and supporting new businesses as well as existing companies that want to grow, and those planning to move to the area.

North Shropshire offers a convenient location for business investment with a range of services and greenfield sites for industrial, office and manufacturing users.  Rents for office and industrial properties are on competing terms with the West Midlands, and local business rates area also amongst the most competitive on offer.

There is easy access to the national motorway network, and two important former trunk roads also cross the district.  The A49 is an important route for Merseyside - South Wales traffic and the A41 links the Birkenhead area with the West Midlands.  The district possesses some of the finest countryside in the region, with unique areas of beauty, establishes schools and a wide choice of housing stock to suit most tastes.  With a first class working environment, the district offers a competitive wage structure to complement the quality of life that exists throughout North Shropshire.

Grants for Business

North Shropshire District Council operates a Business Grants Scheme which offers assistance to incoming and start up businesses as well as businesses looking to grow within the district.  The aim of the scheme is to help develop a diverse and dynamic business base in North Shropshire.  The Grant Scheme was re-launched on the 1st April 2008 for the 08/09 financial year, and you can find out more information, including eligibility, general conditions and how to apply for a grant by clicking here.

Solutions for Business - Funded by government

Solutions for Business is the new name for publicly funded business support - offering a range of services and solutions to meet real business needs.

Solutions for Business brings together and simplifies the range of support offered to businesses by government departments, their agencies and local authorities in England.

Online Business Directory

The Council has established a new online business directory for North Shropshire companies and now any business can be included.
