North Shropshire Play Partnership

The North Shropshire Play Partnership is a body of representatives from key stakeholder organisations within North Shropshire that have an interest in developing and improving play provision and access to play provision within the District.

Members are currently drawn from the following organisations:

  • North Shropshire District Council
  • North Shropshire Voluntary Action
  • North Shropshire Association of Local Councils
  • Community Council of Shropshire
  • Shropshire Playing Field Association
  • Shropshire Youth Association
  • Shropshire County Council

The Partnership exists to:

  • Develop and implement the North Shropshire Play Strategy (a vision for play in North Shropshire from 2007 - 2010)
  • Develop applications for funding to assist the development and/or improvement of play provision in the District
  • Set criteria for projects that aim to develop and/or improve play provision in the District
  • Commission projects that aim to develop and/or improve play provision in the District
  • Monitor and evaluate play provision in North Shropshire
  • Monitor funding secured for play provision in North Shropshire

Through doing so, it seeks to:

  • Recognise diversity and develop services to reflect this
  • Address disadvantage and extend outreach services to ensure equality of opportunity
  • Promote participation by the most disadvantaged
  • Actively challenge all forms of discrimination by local agencies/groups, whether statutory or voluntary.
