Play Activities
The District Council appointed a Play Coordinator in October 2007, following the North Shropshire Play Partnership's successful bid for£200,000 funding from the Big Lottery, to help develop play within the District. The Play Coordinator's role is to provide new and better opportunities for children in North Shropshire to access and take part in play, as a means of developing confidence and personal skills. Since this appointment some new play activities have been implemented around the District, during school term time. Click here for details of play activities currently available.
Holiday Activities
During all school holidays, activities for children are available at all of the leisure and swimming centres in the District. The Sports Development team here at the District Council also organise sports and play related activities and away-days and are looking to offer a wider range of activity during the forthcoming school holiday periods.
The next holiday period is the Summer holiday - Monday 21st July to Monday 1st September 2008. Details of activities during this period will appear here in due course.
Shropshire Youth Games
This is an annual sporting event, which involves teams of children aged 7 - 15 from across the District taking part in a multi-sport competition against teams from the other Districts within Shropshire.
