Health Promotion
In conjunction with the Health Authority and Primary Care Trust, the Council promotes healthier lifestyles including taking part in anti-smoking, home safety and health education activities and promotions.
Health and Hygiene Award Scheme
This is a graded award for cafes, restaurants and canteens which encourages good hygiene standards, healthy eating and a healthy environment.
Food Business - Healthy Eating Awards
National Food Week
This provides an opportunity to promote good food hygiene and practices within different sectors of the community.
Smoke Free Shropshire
We work in conjunction with the Smoke Free Alliance to reduce smoking and its effect within Shropshire.
National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence
General
A number of health promotions campaigns are undertaken, including Safety Scene, which is held for a week during October every year, to promote safety and crime awareness amongst young children.
